Some residents have been asking if mosquitoes can transmit coronavirus. The answer is: No.

To date, there is no scientific evidence nor are there any reports suggesting that mosquitoes can spread coronavirus/COVID-19. The virus responsible for the current pandemic is a respiratory virus that is spread mainly when an infected person coughs or sneezes without covering their nose and mouth, from secretions from their nose and from droplets of their saliva. Click here for more information regarding coronavirus and mosquitoes.
