Availability of Draft Special Coastal Procedures for the Integrated Mosquito and Vector Management Plan
The Mosquito and Vector Management District of Santa Barbara County is pleased to announce the availability of the Draft Special Coastal Procedures Section for the District’s Integrated Mosquito and Vector Management Plan (IMVMP). The District is currently developing a comprehensive countywide IMVMP that will serve as a single reference document consolidating all District activities, including surveillance, vector control methods, public education, environmental compliance, and emergency response, into one coordinated framework. The IMVMP is intended to provide both the public and decision-makers with a clear understanding of current practices, anticipated future needs, proposed best management practices, and the District’s long-term strategy for protecting public health while safeguarding the environment. This effort is intended to strengthen public transparency, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance the District’s mission to protect public health, safety, and welfare.
As part of the IMVMP development process, the District is providing an opportunity for public review and comment on the Draft Special Coastal Procedures. This section of the IMVMP contains procedures and proposed best management practices applicable to environmentally sensitive areas within the coastal zone and will be incorporated into the final IMVMP. The Draft Special Coastal Procedures can be found here:
